Charlie Kaufman’s latest movie, Anomalisa, is a surprising yet delightful treat. Somehow he manages to elicit more empathy, tenderness and even eroticism out of a pair of stop motion animated puppets than I have seen any real human actors manage lately.
It’s power creeps up on you and doesn’t fully hit home until the movie’s end. There are some lovely comedic moments to savour too. A wonderful film the like of which don’t come our way every day.
